Introducing Clodagh Molloy - Our Second Featured Maker

We're excited to welcome Clodagh Molloy to DesignYard as our second Featured Maker in the series. The showcase runs from June 3rd to June 28th, with a special Meet the Maker event on June 12th.

Clodagh is an artist who makes wearable narrative sculptures. That's jewellery, just not in the traditional sense. Her pieces are bold, large scale, and hand-fabricated as hollow forms to keep them light enough to wear. She uses etched copper and enamel to convey powerful, raw and deeply personal themes. They are wearable vessels for stories that might otherwise remain unspoken.  

At the heart of Clodagh's work lies the desire to give voice to the quiet and unheard, breaking stigma's and letting people know they are not alone and that they can come through tough times. She collects people's personal narratives of mental health - capturing stories of struggle, strength, survival, fertility and identity. She etches their words into copper sheet, turning text into texture. The result is jewellery that is not just decorative, but deeply communicative. 

The enamel insets add visual interest but also serve to highlight the stories embedded in the metal. each piece becomes a tactile reminder that jewellery can do more than shine - it can speak. 

As Featured Maker, Clodagh presents a selection from her Shared Stories and 365 Tags projects, as well as new work that show an evolution in her narrative-led practice. At DesignYard we are delighted to introduce you to the idea that jewellery can be much more than a luxurious accessory - it can be a canvas for truth, connection and shared humanity.
