Panic Attack Neckpiece
A striking necklace with nine 'dog tags' made in oxidised copper. This necklace is part of Clodagh Molloy's ongoing Shared Stories project, which is based on individuals' personal stories of mental health issues. She imprints their stories on copper and uses this to create bold hollow-formed pieces with a delicate meaning, with the intent of busting stigmas by opening the conversation on mental health.
The hollow-formed dog tags are constructed from etched copper, one side highlighting one aspect of the story that set the stage for a Panic Attack, the reverse textured with the words of the shared story. The dog tags are presented on a long handmade double link chain, inviting the wearer to interact with the piece as they wear it - a tactile reminder that the wearer is not alone and can survive though times.
