Inspired by Seamus Heaney's poem Digging, which represents his journey to both honour his predecessors toil and work ethic, and depart from his heritage and justifying his identity as a poet.

Heaney's poem Digging is imprinted on the copper sheet by way of etching. This is then used to construct the bold hollow-form brooch. There are three brooches in this limited series:

  1. The bog oak brooch pictured here featuring a piece of bog oak
  2. An enamel brooch featuring text transfer on an enamel inset
  3. The Bog of Allen brooch featuring the image of peat bricks on an enamel inset.

The brooch attaches to the wearer with silver tie back pins & clutches.
