Sacred Heart Ring

The ring comprises three separate rings. An 18k yellow gold heart carries a pavé-set cross motif; a second ring surrounds it with a collar of radiating beams in 18k white gold; and a third forms a halo arching above the heart. Each component slots into the others like a puzzle, holding the assembled design in alignment. The technical ingenuity becomes part of the pleasure of looking: three wearable structures resolve into one sculptural piece.

Its presentation completes the artwork. A shrine with closing doors recalls the layered format of devotional icons. Within a decorative gold frame, a heavily pixelated image of Jesus provides the backdrop, with the ring positioned in place of the Sacred Heart itself. Beneath it stands a cylindrical red votive lamp containing a cross, extending the reference to domestic devotion.

On the hand, the ring becomes an imposing sculpture. Returned to its shrine, it takes its place within a larger installation—offering a collector two ways to experience a work rooted in Irish cultural memory.
