Flaming Pearl Ring

A flaming pearl of wisdom falls through Tibetan clouds in this extraordinary two-part art ring by Da Capo. Inspired by the Albert Bender collection at Collins Barracks, Flaming Pearl translates that imagery into a layered composition of Tahitian pearl, diamonds, rubies and contrasting golds.

One ring is crafted in 18k white gold, holding a Tahitian pearl in a windswept flame pavé-set with 0.56ct of diamonds. The second forms a graphic cloud in 18k yellow gold, set with 0.45ct of rubies. Worn together, the cloud sits above the flaming pearl, bringing the scene into focus on the hand.

The interplay between the two rings is central to the experience: pearl lustre meets diamond brilliance, while the ruby-set golden outline introduces colour and expressive line. With a head measuring 34 × 25mm, the assembled piece has the presence of a small sculpture.

Presented in a carved wooden display box on a yellow silk ribbon, a nod to Buddhist ghau shrine boxes, the artwork continues beyond its wearing. For a collector, it offers both an inventive piece of contemporary Irish jewellery and an object to contemplate between wearings.
