Dublin-based jeweller Sam Lafford fuses old-world elegance with imaginative rebellion. Born in Africa, into a family of makers, Sam has been creating jewellery since his childhood. With a background in engineering and a passion for antique forms, he brings sculptural modernity to heritage craftsmanship.
For over two decades, Sam has crafted bespoke pieces using rare gemstones, diamonds, and salvaged antique components. His whimsical Jolly Roger collection features one-of-a-kind objets d’art drawn from a Dadaist spirit—unexpected, intelligent, and deeply personal.
In 2025, Studio Lafford introduced two prêt-à-porter collections: Leading Lights, a platinum and diamond range inspired by Dublin’s architectural history, and Grá, an heirloom-grade collection exploring Irish love and identity. Alongside these, the Shamwari line begins a signature edition of sculptural rings, the first edition featuring hand-cut stones from the renowned Atelier Munsteiner.
Studio Lafford’s work has been featured in The Gloss Magazine, The Irish Times, Sunday business post, Irish Independent, Tatler UK, and The New York Times—recognised for its refined storytelling, craftsmanship, and cultural resonance, followed by a recent feature in the jewellery exhibition in the Irish National Museum in Collins Barracks.
