Your DesignYard jewellery is made with the finest materials and best workmanship and you can rest assured that they will last you a lifetime. However, over time you may notice that those pieces you wear everyday are looking a little less than fresh. In most cases this is simply cosmetic and a good indication that it is time for a little tender loving care.

Whether it’s your fancy weekend getaway car or the goo-covered mom-mobile you know it needs a regular service and NCT. Your much worn jewellery is no different.

Your jewellery takes a bit of a beating as you go about your day-to-day. This is most obvious in the way the metals lose a bit of their shine or matte finishes over time. Luckily we can redo these finishes and restore your pieces to their original state. Depending on the condition of the jewellery and the original finish, we either refinish the jewellery in our workshop, or send it back to the original maker.

This Niessing ring is a good example. This ring hasn’t left her hand since she received it several years ago. Over time the crisp matte brushed finish had made way for this rather mottled mess and a few deep dings had appeared. All normal changes for a ring that sees daily wear in a busy and active lifestyle. We sent this ring to Niessing for a full service. Have a look at the video to see the end results.

While your jewellery is with us, we also carry out a close inspection of your gem settings to make sure the gems are secure. If we find any issues we will let you know what additional work we recommend and any associated costs. Once work is complete you can be assured that your piece not only looks good as new, but is all set for another few years of solid wear.
