3 of Our Own at Romanian Jewellery Week

This October, we’re thrilled to see three of our very own DesignYard makers stepping onto the international stage at Romanian Jewellery Week 2025 in Bucharest.  Nicole van der Wolf, Siobhán McArdle, and Vanessa Ree will be representing Irish studio jewellery alongside some of the most exciting contemporary makers from across Europe.

And they won’t be going it alone. The trio have joined forces with fellow Irish jewellers Natasha Heaslip and Louisa Scott, presenting as a united front of five talented women who embody the creativity, craftsmanship, and originality of Irish design today.

At DesignYard, we’ve long admired the distinct voices of our three exhibitors:

  • Nicole van der Wolf for her distinctive, elegant and sculptural pieces that balance precision with the poetry of water in all its forms.

  • Vanessa Ree for her strong, playful explorations of contemporary idiom and Iconic Irish animals - pieces that challenge expectations of fine jewellery.

Events like  Romanian Jewelry Week are vital – not only for makers, who gain invaluable exposure, fresh inspiration, and international connections, but also for collectors, who discover exciting new work and engage directly with the creative forces behind it. Much like we do here at DesignYard, these shows celebrate the dialogue between maker and collector, and highlight the artistry that makes jewellery so much more than adornment.

We’re proud to see Nicole, Vanessa, and Siobhan carry the spirit of Irish design abroad, and we know their work will resonate with an international audience just as strongly as it does here at home.
