In families where skills and passions run deep, children are naturally drawn to their parents' interests. Xavier who is master goldsmith Sam Lafford's son, and his siblings, have grown up spending weekends in the Jewellery studio.
As the time we have together, on weekends, is so precious, I wanted to record Xav’s progress as he learns new materials, techniques and how to use the different tools of the jewellery trade. Letters from Xavier began with Xav making pendants for his mom and gran. It follows his progress as he learns to work in jeweller's wax and come to terms with the different tools.
Production is limited…to the hours between Minecraft and Fortnite.
